Jack William McCardle*

Jack William McCardle "Devoted to Family" Jack William McCardle (Shorty) passed away Febraury 1, 2008.

He was born November 17, 1923 to John Emmet and Claire Leavitt McCardle in Salt Lake City, UT.

He spent his early childhood in California. He attended West High School, Salt Lake City UT where he was selected All City Basketball two years in a row.

He married Ruth Campbell on March 24, 1950 and was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple one year later. He was a loving father to Scott J. McCardle, Patti Ann Peeples and his nephew Barry Koelliker. He has three grandchildren, Adam, Sarah and Aaron and four great grandchildren. Annalaya, Addison, McKaylee and Indi. Jack joined the U. S. Navy in 1943 during World War II and spent two years on the USS Yakutat serving in the Pacific and Japan. He worked for his Uncle Lyman Leavitt at Anchor Boat and Steel for seven years and retired from Hercules Aerospace in 1986 after 26 Years of service. He spent his retirement doing what he loved most, taking care of his loving wife, granchildren and spending quality time at the cabin with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
